Get ready for summer! Here’s a list of 10 things to get ready for Summer League.

1. Find a team
This is such a common thing that we have an entire page dedicated to it! See the find a team page for all our tips.
2. Encourage friends to play – Intro Session or Summer Camp
You’ve got a team, great! Now tell your friends how awesome ultimate is and encourage them to play! If your team isn’t looking for brand new players, the VUL offers Intro Sessions for anyone interested in trying the sport out. We also offer a Summer League Camp for players with 0-2 years experience.
3. Improve your skills – Spring Clinics
Reach your ultimate potential! We host free 2 hour clinics every April and May. The focus is on the different levels of throwing, offense and defense. We also run a session just for ladies of all levels to learn from top female instructors. Register for all clinics on the calendar.
Additionally, we host clinic sessions at Ultimate Day as you'll read about in 'Thing #5'
4. Get new cleats and a disc
Visit our partner Rackets & Runners to buy cleats, discs and VUL merchandise! You get 10% off all regular-priced purchases, including VUL gear. Spend $75 or more before July 1 and you’ll be entered in a draw for a $50 gift certificate!

5. Attend Summer League Kick Off Events – Ultimate Day and Spirit week
Ultimate Day, on Saturday April 25, is our biggest event of the year! It’s designed for both captains and players. In the morning we hold our summer captain’s meeting. Immediately following is an afternoon of clinics and workshops. In between these sessions you can visit our ultimate tradeshow to learn about VUL partners, regional leagues and tournaments. We also run a free BBQ for most the day!
Spirit week runs the week before Summer League starts, from April 27-30. Come play fun and spirited ultimate and meet other players who play on the same night as you. We’ll give away prizes for awesomeness and whatever else we feel necessitates it.

6. Volunteer for the VUL
Get more involved in the sport and community by volunteering! This is a great way to meet new people, give back and have more fun in your life. You can volunteer to help at events, or you can volunteer your expertise to help drive the society forward. See our volunteers page for more info.
7. Mend your Injuries
Visit Jointworks Chiropractic or Insync Physiotherapy to get fixed up so you don't have to miss any ultimate this summer.
8. Go to a Spring Tournament
Tournaments are a great way improve and experience how much fun the ulty community really is. If you aren’t in shape, you’ll be well on your way after one of these! See our article on Spring Tournaments for a comprehensive list.
9. Get your Professional Ultimate Tickets
