2022 Youth Winter Safety Plans & FAQ's - Updated!

We are very excited to be able to continue all of our youth programming in Winter 2022! The safety of our participants is of the utmost importance. 

Safety plans and policies will continue to be updated as we move through BC's Restart Plan. The VUL COVID-19 Policy, which outlines the guidelines for all programs and a safe return to sport can be found on our VUL COVID-19 Policy & Resource page. 


2022 Youth Winter Rules & Guidelines

Here is what you need to know about our youth program instructors:

They will be:

  • Wearing masks during all youth programs.
  • Fully vaccinated.
  • Making sure that all participants keep a safe distance between each other.
  • Providing a fun and safe space for all!

Youth Winter Outdoor Programs

Here is what you need to know if you're a participating in outdoor programs:

  • You do not need to be vaccinated to participate in outdoor youth programs.
  • You do not need to wear a mask, but you are welcome to if you want. 
  • A safe distance will be kept between you and the other participants at all times.

Youth Winter Indoor Programs

Here is what you need to know if you're a participating in indoor programs:

  • You do not need to be vaccinated to participate indoor youth programs.
  • You have to follow all the rules posted at the facility being used for your indoor youth program.
  • A safe distance will be kept between you and the other participants at all times.

What must be done before each program session?

Here is what we need done, before you attend each session of your program:

  • Please complete the BC COVID-19 Self-Check at home. If you're under 19, please do this with a parent/guardian. 
  • Bring your own water and snacks. 
  • Leave your discs at home, we will provide clean equipment.
  • On the days you don't feel well, stay at home.

After every program, here is what you need to do: 

  • Ensure you wash/sanitize your hands.
  • If you develop symptoms, or a close contact tests positive for COVID-19 please tell us immediately.

What do I need to know if I am a spectator at any VUL program?

  • For parents, non-participants and spectators of any VUL program there are steps you must take. Please review the VUL COVID-19 Policy on our VUL COVID-19 Resource page for guidelines and rules for spectators.

FAQ's

1) Do I need to be vaccinated to participate in any of the 2022 VUL Youth Winter programs?

  • No. You do not have to be vaccinated to play in the outdoor or indoor 2022 youth winter programs.

2) Will the youth program instructors be vaccinated?

3) Do I have to wear a mask during my outdoor program?

  • Masks are not required for youth programs being held outdoors. But, you can if you want to!

4) If part of my youth program is indoors, do I have to be vaccinated?

  • No. For youth indoor programs proof of vaccination is not required.
  • You have to follow all the rules posted at the facility being used for your indoor youth program. 

3) Will the VUL be keeping the 2-metre distance between participants?

  • Yes. Safe distance will be maintained during all programming and sidelines for participants.

4) If I am a parent, non-participant or spectator, what do I need to know? 

  • For parents, non-participants and spectators of programs there are steps you must take if you are watching VUL indoor or outdoor programming.

5) If I am a youth player, but rostered to play in the Indoor Adult League, do I have to be vaccinated to play in that program?

  • Yes. All participants of the indoor adult program must provide proof of being fully vaccinated.

6) Do I have to do the BC COVID-19 Self Check every time before I attend my youth program?

  • Yes. This must be done before you attend your program.
  • If you do not feel well, please stay home.
