Help Support Jo Playfair

The VUL’s very first league coordinator could use our help.   Support Jo Playfair

Jonathan “Jo” Playfair was a founding captain of the Flaming Red Sallies, one of the initial three teams ever to play in the VUL, and was the league’s first coordinator in 1986.

Jo has recently been diagnosed with MDS (myelodysplastic syndromes), a rare type of blood cancer that affects the formation of healthy blood cells. Friends have set up a GoFundMe page to help support Jo, his wife Anette, and their three daughters as he undergoes treatment and is unable to work.

Original members of the VUL may recall Jo opening his home to meetings and events to support the league and its teams, and remember his athleticism and spirit on the field. We were delighted and honored to induct Jo into the VUL Hall of Fame in 2013.
