Summer Ultimate - What's the plan?

Are you wondering what's up for summer ultimate? Read on for our plans and complete this survey to let us know yours!

Status - April 2

All team-based sports for adults and youth are currently suspended, so we cannot run any leagues.

For other activities:

  • Youth: Drills and modified training are allowed for youth if 3m physical distance is maintained. We're offering two Spring U19 Series in line with these guidelines, and will announce details about our Summer Youth programs shortly!

  • Adults: Outdoor activities are allowed for up to 10 adult participants if 3m distance is maintained. However, this isn't enough people to allow for viable programs, so we are not offering any adult activities at this time. In the meantime, you can join our Disc Golf group or pickup one of our disc golf discs!  Read More

  • Travel: Non-essential travel should be avoided. Individuals are permitted to travel for sport to where they normally play.

See our COVID Resources for more about current guidelines.

Summer Plans - Our Approach

We expect the province to reopen sports in phases like they did last year:

  1. Camps and Practices first (these are allowed now for youth)
  2. Modified Leagues later.

We are monitoring provincial health orders, vaccinations, and variants. The progress on vaccines is quite promising, but the spread of variants is a concern. We encourage all VUL members to follow all health orders so we can minimize spread of the virus!  Further spread is risky to everyone, and will only delay the restart of sports and other activities.

We'll decide what programs to offer as things progress. Please note our staff capacity is reduced, so we may not be able to respond quickly to changing orders, but we'll do our best.
