The AGM is open to all members of the Society. A member is anyone who has properly registered and paid to play a league or other program in 2016. Registration will be from 6:15-7:00pm, and you cannot vote without registering. The meeting will start at 7:00pm and run for about 2 hours, followed by the social. Those who cannot attend may vote by proxy: complete a proxy form and give it to a registered member to vote on your behalf (limit of one proxy per member present).

Board Elections

The Board of Directors is responsible for decisions that can have immediate and long-term impacts on the VUL. For more information on what's involved in being a Director, see the Board FAQ or email the Board via board@vul.ca. This year we're especially looking for those with experience in HR, accounting, governance, and community leadership.

Three positions are up for election in 2016. All terms last 2 years.

Nominations are now closed. View the list of Candidates for the 2016 Elections

New Business

At this year's AGM, we will introduce a new 5-year Strategic Plan. While developing that plan we also created new Vision and Mission statements. A motion will also be put forward to update our Bylaws to align with the new BC Societies Act that will come into effect on November 28, 2016. A summary of the Strategic Plan and full details of the Bylaw changes will be posted here in advance of the meeting.

Any other proposed new business must be submitted to the Board via board@vul.ca at least 7 days before the AGM. Notice of any special business must contain sufficient information to permit each member to make an informed decision.

Update: This article initially said 4 positions were up for election. There are just 3.
