Some of you probably think this message is coming too early. It is never too early to think about going to tournaments this year.

In 2011, the VULS supported the following club teams:

Tantrum (X)
Furious George (O)
Blackfish (O)
Traffic (W)
Zephyr (W)
Gauntlet(M)

I am starting to take names for teams seeking support in 2012. Now is a good time to consider starting your own team. Flatline (2008), Ellipsis (2010), and Tantrum (2011) have all done it, and so can you. It doesn't take much to get started beside an interest in developing your game. And it's a rewarding experience; there's nothing more fun than playing a game well. If you're tempted, be sure to send me an e-mail.

With CUC2012 in Victoria and some extra BC bids to go in most divisions, it would be a shame not to up our game. And remember, just playing at regionals helps earn bids for CUC2013.

As memoranda of interest come in, early indications are such that the VULS will be supporting

TFP (X)
Tantrum (X)
Furious George (O)
Blackfish (O)
Traffic (W)
Zephyr (W)
Gauntlet(M)

in the summer of 2012.

Now, it so happens that BC will receive at least 3 bids to CUCs this year. That means that a third open team from Vancouver has a good shot of making the cut for Victoria. Think about it, people.

So if the VUL "supports" these team by getting them fields for practices, why is TFP on this list???

Clearly, they've signed up just to spite you.

I was afraid of that, although usually they just win when I say they will lose and lose when I say they will win to spite me.

TFP is coming in first at whatever major event they are attending this year.

LOL BURN!!

The minimum number of bids BC currently expects to receive in each division:

Open - 3
Mixed - 2
Women's - 2
Master's - 2

Pretty tempting. . . .

In case you were wondering, the touring programme currently supports the following adult teams:

Furious George (O)
Blackfish (O)
The Refinery (O)
Traffic (W)
Zephyr (W)
Nomads(M)
Gauntlet (M)
Tantrum (X)

Non-supported VUL-based teams:
TFP (X)
Ellipsis (W)

Junior team list still pending.
