Officiating for the pros

1 post / 0 new

We are looking for new officials for the MLU and AUDL in Vancouver.

Remember standing on the field after dropping an easy pass, listening to the gentle heckling of your teammates, and thinking: "Wouldn't it be great if there were more people here to heckle me?"  Well there are.  More people.  Hundreds of them.   And they will heckle you.   But the heckling will be good-natured.   I can almost promise.  And it will be from your friends so that's fun, right?

  • Yes there is pay.
  • And yes, there is training, mostly in the form of running around after the teams at their practices and blowing your whistle every so often.
  • You can commit to doing one game, or all of them - it's up to you.  All games we work are in Vancouver or Burnaby,
  • Basic rules knowledge is a plus.  No prior officiating or observing experience required.

So if you are interested in becoming an official for professional Ultimate in Vancouver then the time is now (or soon-ish).  The first AUDL home game is on April 25, and the first MLU game a week after that.
