Youth Club Teams

In addition our popular recreational Youth League and Camps, we also run the the largest set of competitive youth Ultimate programs in Canada! Teams in these programs train to compete in Provincial and National championships.

We run four regional youth clubs in Metro Vancouver:

Each club runs three types of programs during the main summer season (June–August):

  1. Development Team: A supportive, non-competitive setting where instructors emphasize fundamental skills, introduce basic game strategies, and foster teamwork. No tryouts required, and may attend one tournament. Sessions typically once or twice a week for two hours. This is typically mixed-gender (co-ed) for ages 11–14.
  2. Regional Club Team: A competitive team that trains to play at three regional tournaments throughout the summer. As these teams are competitive, tryouts may be required to secure a spot. Practices are typically three times a week for two hours. Teams are separated into Womens and Open divisions.
  3. Touring Club Team: A competitive team that trains to play at two regional tournaments, and one national tournament. Tryouts are typically required to secure a spot on a team. Ideal for players with prior club or high school experience. Practices are typically three times a week for two hours. Teams are separated into Womens and Open divisions.

During the off-season (September–April), teams may run smaller training sessions or leagues.

Exact program details will vary by club team. Visit club team pages for more information.

Players register as individuals, and the VUL organizes and manages teams based on the player's skill level and their desire for competition and travel. All players must be 18 years old or younger by December 31st of the playing year.

Financial Assistance for Youth

We understand that cost can be a barrier for some families in accessing sport programming in their community. We're here to provide opportunities for all players, no matter their unique family situations. If your family can benefit from financial assistance, we encourage you to explore external funding options. Contact us if you have any questions.
